Romantic road

THE OWNERS of a car pictured by an internet mapping company on aroad branded one of the most romantic in the country havehoneymooned on the street.

Google Street View named Marine Parade, St Mawes as romantic -their pictures include a holidaymaker's car parked against the seawall.

The car's owners, Paul and Nicola Humphries, from Warwickshirecontacted the West Briton after reading the story. They rent acottage on the road and also honeymooned there.

He said: "If the field becomes a magnet for that kind ofbehaviour worse things might happen - I'd be most worried that thenext thing might be hypodermic needles and so on."

He said the older pupils were aware of what the condoms andbottles were, but parents were "very anxious" and did not want thefield to become "an unpleasant place".

Mr Lees was keen to emphasise there were plenty of "lovely youngpeople" in Threemilestone who "would never do something like that".

He asked the people involved to "think about their actions andthe danger they might cause to children".

Glass and used condoms were not found in the grounds of theschool. Tom Wignall, a groundsman employed by Kenwyn Parish Council,cleared the rubbish before the halfterm break. After a meeting wherecouncillors commended him for the work, Karen Harding, clerk of thecouncil, said: "It was above and beyond what we would expect him todo."
