Another fairy tale from William M. Dowd (``Antiques add new life to an old city,'' Rensselaer TU, Aug. 10). Yes, there are several specialty shops in a two-block area just beyond City Hall, but how does this qualify as ``dynamic''?

My wife and I were there recently, walked around, went in a few of the shops that were open (some were closed), and I didn't see anything that would qualify as ``dynamic.'' Maybe I missed something. I also saw a grand total of one eating establishment (it was closed). Mr. Dowd, where oh …
